finding matching info in 2 excel tables

    Hello,

I wanted to copy information from one table, to another because they have a common invoice number.

in the file attached you can see in the tab Invoices_ERP kolom J: This payment number you can also find in the table on tab Sheet1.

The link between the 2 is the invoice number (also in both tables)
I want to link them like the formula that has been used in Invoices_ERP kolom I.
    But I get an error.

Can someone tell me what is going wrong?

(you can answer in NL, FR, IT, EN)
    Thanks,
    Belinda

Can you say which cell on which sheet is going wrong, and what the answer should be

I see invoices numbers appear several times so you want a sumif?

Re: finding matching info in 2 excel tables

tab: Invoices_ERP kolom J: this is the same number as you can find in tab Sheet1 kolom A

So if in Invoices_ERP the invoice number in kolom I = invoice number Sheet1 kolom 2 then the payment number of sheet1 kolom A should be visible in Invoices_ERP kolom J

Hope this is clear, difficult to explain.

    Thanks for the help

    Belinda

Re: finding matching info in 2 excel tables

Maybe to make it clearer to what I want to do, I attached another file.

Please see the formula in the cell highlighted in yellow (J23 - tab Invoices_ERP)

Why do I receive an error on this formula?

    Thanks,
    Belinda

Re: finding matching info in 2 excel tables

the values in the payments DE sheet are text, in the error cell they are numbers

if the formula was =INDEX(Table1[Payment Number],MATCH(TEXT(I23,"0"),'Payments DE'!B3:B484,0)) it would return a value

you may use ; instead of , depending on your locale
