Need help with a formula to average a range, ignore blanks but NOT zeros

First off, thank you for your time.

I can create a sample sheet if needed but what I am trying to do is create a formula to average a range and ignore blanks but does not ignore zeros since I'll have those as values. I know how to do and averageif ignoring both blanks and zeros but not sure about just ignoring blanks.

Hi there,

I don't normally use the AVERAGE function or any of its associated functions, but a (VERY!) quick test seems to suggest that the AVERAGE function does ignore cells which are empty, but includes cells which contain zeroes.
