    highlight equal numbers

    Good evening everyone
    in the attached file
from K1 to N20 do I have numbers that I use in conditional formatting to highlight the same numbers per line?
in red colored manually there are the expected results
    Thanks for your attention

    Re: highlight equal numbers

could you explain what criteria you used to color code your results? For example you have 2 in row 9 highlighted, also 10 and 16 in the same row. Are you confusing columns (up and down) to rows (same line)? The first 2 appears in cell L1, first 10 in L3 and first 16 in N4. The 2nd 10 appears in cell M6 but it isn't highlighted. The 2nd 16 appears in N8 and also isn't highlighted. What criteria are you using to determine what gets highlighted?

    Re: highlight equal numbers

    Hello
    Thanks for your attention
the purpose is to highlight (if there are equal numbers on different lines ..... minimum two)
the results that are highlighted manually are correct
    in row9 I have 2-10-16
    in row 12
    10-16
    and in row 16
    02-10-16

    Re: highlight equal numbers

I'm still not following your reasoning, what is equal about 2, 10 and 16? I am not saying your "manually" highlighted results are not correct, I just don't know how to write a conditional formatting formula that would highlight what you want without understanding the logic behind why those numbers but not other numbers or why those numbers in other rows are not highlighted?

    Re: highlight equal numbers

Correct me if I misunderstood you:
    a) Start from 1st row: 1,2,3,4
going thru every row to see if any row that contains at least two of the four (1,2,3,4).
If any, highlight the duplicate items
    b) start again with 2nd row
    ...
    so on

Row 9 (2,5,10,16): go thru from row 10 and down.
found out that row 12 have 10,16 then highlight, row 16 have 2,10,16 then highlight.

    Does it correct?
