Formula to find lowest time n 2 groups then the difference between them ignoring “-“

So I need to have a formula look to F, G, H, I.

look to see which is a lower time

F or G

then look to see which is a lower time in

H or I

then subtract the lower time from F/G from the lower time in H/I.

it will also need to ignore any "-"- it encounters

There are no empty cells. There is a “-“ in any cell that is empty

Oh! I thought I put that in the original post, apparently I brain farted. The “-“ would essentially be ignored and the other cell info would get pulled over.

You can use:

MIN(I8,J8)

as this will ignore empty cells.

Thanks a ton! Has definitely got me closer. I had to reverse the order but it works. The only issue is if there was a blank n any of the 4 cells to be calculated it outputs “blank” since the f;I =4 is false

You can use this in N7:

=MAX(MIN(I7,J7),MIN(K7,L7)) - MIN(MIN(I7,J7),MIN(K7,L7))

then copy down. The values in row 6 are actually text values, so if you copy the formula up to N6 you will get zero. Click on each cell in turn for I6:L6, then press F2 as if to edit the cell, then press Enter, and this should return a proper time value.

I assumed you wanted the positive time difference, whichever of the pairs is larger, which the above formula will give you.
