I have tried to set up a vlookup using Isnumber with Match , but it returns zero in some instances and gives the correct result for others
I have highlighted the incorrect results in yellow
I may have to do the some of the numbers are actual numbers and appear as text but in actual fact are numbers
I have attached sample data

What makes these incorrect, because they seem correct to me? With the exact match option (4th argument of VLOOKUP() is FALSE), Excel will find the first match of lookup value and return the corresponding value from column (4 in this case). In the erroneous cases, there are two matches for 90890 -- one in row 10 and one in row 14. In row 10, column D is 0, so that is the value VLOOKUP() will return.
What does this lookup function need to do when there are multiple possible matches?
