Too many/few arguments for this function

    =ROUND(-3)((((AVERAGE(B10:B15)-AVERAGE(B20:B25))/((AVERAGE(B10:B15)+AVERAGE(B20:B25))/2))*100))

I have tried to fix the above function so the results produced are rounded to the hundredths place and I get either too few or too many arguments as a response. How do I fix this?

    Hi,
Your formula is not constructed correctly.
please upload your excel file, and explain what you are trying to do...

Re: Too many/few arguments for this function

You have a close-bracket immediately after the 3 in the ROUND function, and so that doesn't make sense. Try it this way:

    =ROUND(((AVERAGE(B10:B15)-AVERAGE(B20:B25))/((AVERAGE(B10:B15)+AVERAGE(B20:B25))/2,-3)*100

    Hope this helps.

    Pete

Thanks Pete. I did enter it as specified (above is what I entered) and I get " there's a problem with this formula..."

That's because it's nearly impossible to amend a formula outside the context. that would be a sheer guessing...
Look at the yellow banner at the top of the page for instructions as for how to upload your sample file...

I appreciate it Belinda and I have tried to load both a worddoc and a PNG with no success. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

I have loaded it as an Excel and still no luck and no instructions appear at the top of the screen as stated in the yellow HOW TO ATTACH YOUR SAMPLE WORKBOOK yellow box.

I appreciate your time. Thank you. I will try again later. Have a good day.

Here are (more or less) the same instructions as are in the yellow banner which (AFAIK) right at the top of EVERYONE'S page... always

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment. So,... instead click on Go Advanced (below the Edit Window) while composing your reply, then scroll down to and click on Manage Attachments and the Upload window will open. Click on Browse and navigate to (and double-click) the file icon that you want to attach, then click on Upload and then on Close this Window to return to the Edit window. When you have finished composing your post, click on Submit Post.
