How to automate dates in excel calendar

I am wondering is there a way to automate the format of the date numbers in a calendar. I would like to be able to drag down and the numbers increase in the same format. I have included a template with January to show what I mean.

I cannot think of any formula that would do this, so interested to find out if anyone else has the answer!

    Thanks

You can if you put the date in its own narrow column.

To test this, select column C and change the formatting to custom - d.

Now type 01/01/2021 into cell C9 and enter - drag copy down.

In B9 add 1/1/2021. In B10 and drag down =B9+1. Then select the column, right click, format cells - Custom and add in the box d. Press ok and done.

You don't need the formula - dates will increment automatically.

If you wanted to be able to pick up "events" from a list on another sheet (e.g. the public holidays that you show in your example file), then you can also do this with a few formulae so that you don't have to add them in specifically yourself.

    Hope this helps.

Hi Pete, That would be great to be able to do. What would be an example of a formula?
