I have a list of words in column G separated by _ underscore symbols
How can I write a countif such as:
=COUNTIF(G:G, "*retailer")
my value i am trying to count is: retailer_cient_london
This is returning a 0...

Try this:
=COUNTIF(G:G, "retailer*")
