VLOOKUP and averages on different tab

I need to do a VLOOKUP on a separate tab and get the average of the numbers associated with that VLOOKUP word. This would be two columns, one column with the word the VOOKUP is searching for and a second column with the number that is associated with that word.

    What formula works best?

    Appreciate it

    Welcome to the forum.

There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook.

    Here we are:

    =AVERAGEIF('2021 tickets'!$C$2:$C$96,A6,'2021 tickets'!$A$2:$A$96)
