Ranking list based on test scores

    Hello,

I am working on an Excel sheet that places a rank by each person based on their score for a certain part of a hiring test, each section is tested individually and then the average of the rank of each list is used to rank them overall. It will only rank if each all scores are listed, but I would like to to rank regardless of if all section scores are entered and regardless of if each persons scores are entered. If I delete even one score the overall averages go to #value!. Also I may have 30 people testing one time but only 5 people testing the next time so I may not have each cell filled out. I will attach the file for reference.

Thank you for any help, it is much appreciated.

I am not confident that I fully catch your ideal, but try:

    D4:
    =IFERROR(RANK(C4,C$4:C$33),"")
Drag down and accross to next columns.

    I4:
    =AVERAGE(D4,F4,H4)

If it does not work, what is your expected results? try to input some manually.

I don't have a problem with the individual scores it is the overall average and rank that is the problem, I do not get a continuously changing rank when scores are entered. I only get the #VALUE! error until all scores are entered.

Your file works until I delete the score in the interview section

Re: Ranking list based on test scores

Actually it gives me a #DIV/0! if even one persons score is not present in any category. So if I only have 5 people testing I will not get a rank.
