DAILY TO MONTHLY RETURNS USING PRODUCT, ARRAYS, finance

Hello guys,

I've been a few days trying to obtain, from a dataset (row) with daily returns, monthly returns automatically. The idea is to have row 1 days, row 2 daily return, row 3 month, row 4 monthly returns (calculated as daily returns compounded =PRODUCT("beginning of the month":"end of the month"+1)-1

Basically, the idea is to calculate the monthly return with one formula, without having to change the array manually.

I attach the excel with the first two monthly returns calculated manually changing the array.

Hello jmf1. Welcome to the forum.

Edited: Formula needed some adjustment as approximate matches would keep returning incorrect results when MONTHLY RETURNS dates exceeded dates in row 1. This uses exact matches.

Try in B6 and fill across.
