matching 1 column with another

i want to match one column to another but it is not working correctly.

By concatenating:

=F9&" "&G9

you have added a space to the end of H9. Therefore, H9 does NOT equal D11.

Try this:

=IF(COUNTIF(H:H,$D9&" ")=0,$D9 &" not in column","")

OR change the concatenation to this:

=F9&G9

Your column H or column D have some leading space character.

D9 has a TRAILING space for the reason I explained in post #2.
