    conditional formatting with color code?

My workbook is for tracking, calculating, & etc for our facility egg incubation room.
My spreadsheet has a main “data” page where certain drop-down menus (info pulled from hidden sheets, based on drop down selection), information is entered manually, & some cells have formulas for data to be calculated for the person.

The remaining sheets are for the information on the individual egg. Most of its information is pulled from the “data” page.
In cell D13 & D15 on the individual page, I have the minimum & maximum incubation period (in days, ex. Either listed as 28 days {that is min & max} or min-23 days & max-26 days).
Below that is a grid for notes & calculations, but it also has the date and day #.

My question is, I’m having trouble making a conditional formula to highlight on the grid the min/max day # based on the range of D13 & D15

*I have 2 pictures, but for the life of me can't them attached. If anyone could also give me directions to do that I can attach them then.

Please and thank you for all of your help

Ty for replying. How do I add, if I've already submitted thread? Is there a way to edit the original thread post?
    Thank you for your time

to attach images, when doing a post or editing a post, look down in the bottom right of the entry box, and click on "Go Advanced"..

next, when after click the little "Insert Image" icon above the text entry box, you will get a window, click "From Computer, then "Choose File", and choose your file.

    after that click "Upload File(s)"

Re: conditional formatting with color code?

if you remove the custom formatting on column K on the data sheet, and instead format as numbers
then also remove the custom formatting on cells D13 and D15 on the 21J008 sheet, and instead format as numbers

then you can apply this Conditional Formatting formula on cells '21J008'!$I$24:$I$44

Re: conditional formatting with color code?

Ty for replying, I have attached the spreadsheet again, but with other tabs unhidden.
I am not sure what you mean to "instead format as numbers". I kind of need the formatting in column K on DATA sheet. I unhid the other tabs to show that based on the bird species (drop down menu), it pulls other relevant information needed to auto populate in other columns.
With this new information is it still possible to do the conditional formatting?
    Thank you for your time

Re: conditional formatting with color code?

Changed as per post #6: the "Days" in the formatting are redundant as "Days" are the default units.

oh my gosh ya'll, I didn't realize I had a formatted cell for "days", lol...
Where do I put the conditional formatting or is there a particular rule that I need to select?

    Click on (select) I24:I44

    Click Conditional Formatting>>>New Rule>>Use formula ....>>> Insert formula from post #6.[=AND(I24>=$D$13,I24<=$D$15)] .FIll.Select color>>OK

Ensure formatting for D13 & D15 as number

Re: conditional formatting with color code?

the spreadsheets that JohnTopley and I have attached already have the formatting applied.

    to mark as Solved...
at the top right of your initial post... look for "Thread Tools"
click that, then select it as [SOLVED]... job done!

also, if you are pleased with the assistance you have received, it is possible to show appreciation to others by clicking "Add Reputation" on the bottom left of their message.

have a great night or day, as the case may be.
