Derive a number based in background colour and add to it

    Hi,

Can any one help me to solve this. I have attached a table. I want to write a formula that derives if any number with the yellow background, I want to add 100 to the value, if anything on blue, I want to add 150 to the value and anything on green, I want to add 200 to the value.

For example I want to get a price if the column is D (1000) and row is 5 (1100), it should derive the value 165 and add 100 to it, so the total should get 265

Column J (1600) and row 12 (1800), it should derive 302 and add 150 to it.

Column X (3000) and row 22 (2800), it should dervie 684 and add 200 to it.

Like that, how I can write a formula. Please help

    Administrative Note:

    Welcome to the forum.

We would very much like to help you with your query, however the thread title does not really convey what your request is about. Tell us what you are trying to do, not how you think it should be done.

Please take a moment to amend your thread title. Make sure that the title properly explains your request. Your title should be explicit and not be generic (this includes function names used without an indication of what you are trying to achieve).

Please see Forum Rule #1 about proper thread titles and adjust accordingly. To edit the thread title, open the original post to edit and then click on Go Advanced (bottom right) to access the area where you can edit your title.

(Note: this change is not optional. As you are new here, I have done it for you this time.)

Excel cannot use cell formatting to determine anything via a formula. Unless you can find another logic to use, you will have to use VBA for this.
