    Convoluted logic question

    Hello everyone,

I'm trying to create a dynamic graphic page for golf. that can reference both information from an external XML file and pair it with a text string that represents a file path.

Basically, I have 5 players (a,b,c,d and e) and I get their scores sent to me via the XML. I also have their profile pictures saved on my hard drive. Their place in the ranking will change as the day goes by, so it might be e, d, c, b, a, then e, d, b, c, a, etc.

I want to create some sort of function that lists the profile pictures in the same order as their scores.

All of this data is referenced by a graphics program that can interpret excel data.

    Any thoughts?

The simplest way would be to hold the pictures in the workbook and use a macro that cut and pasted the pictures in the appropriate order.

    Re: Convoluted logic question

My next thought is to create a new sheet and reference all the cells in the first sheet. When I refresh the data, all the values will change, but i want to link the cell containing "e" to his profile picture's file path in the next cell over. Is there a way to link to cells to each other so if e's name moves, his profile picture (not referenced in the original dynamic XML) will ALWAYS move with it?

Is there a way to do that?

I'm struggling to understand your layout and how this all looks and hangs together.

Please upload the workbook and manually show how you would expect it to look after a refresh, clearly indicating which cells are to be refreshed
