Using Excel drop down lists for an interactive pricelist

    Hi,

I am hoping to set up excel in order to help formulate a pricelist to help with tendering.

I am planning on setting up an internal pricelist in a folder which will be linked back to our pricing sheet and can be updated regularly.

I would like the first drop down list to include elements such as an over product type eg. pumps, tanks, actuators etc. This would then be followed up with another dropdown list which would be dependant on what is selected in the first ie. for pumps it would show centrifugal, submersible, dewatering and tanks would show concrete, glass lined and if actuators was selected the next list would show automatic, manual. This would then lead to another dropdown lists, and possible another until it can get to an actual model or product which would then relate to the pricelist and show the price.

I understand this is alot and may not actually be possible.

    Thanks in advance.

there are numerous ways to achieve what you want.
see big yellow banner - how to upload your workbook - far easier then for us to work with meaningful data.
attached file is a quick demo - start by putting quantity in F2 - then tab across selecting from relative dropdowns.
to extend place quantity in F3 - the table will expand dynamically - no need to worry about maintaining formula etc.
another method using dropdowns contained on a userform.
    Torachan,

Mission statement; Promote the use of Tables, Outlaw the use of 'merged cells' and 'RowSource'.

    Huge thanks T,

That Dynamic drop down list is exactly what I am after.

At the minute we are currently building our product library and as such don't have any meaningful data to upload.

Is there a way I can see how you set this up?

Code entirely in the worksheet module.
Initially place an ActiveX combobox in cells G2, H2 & I2.
Ensure the comboboxes are totally contained within the cell boundaries.
