#CALC! Error with Filter Function Pulling from Other Formulas

    Hello!

I am running into a #CALC! error when using the filter function. My parameters are reading into formulas on another sheet. I find that when I copy/paste values and covert the text to number, the Filter formula works fine. Is there a way to get around this error while keeping the formula in the parameter cells? Example attached with the first row being 'fixed' through the copy/paste values solution.

    Try this:

=FILTER('Bid Information and Summary'!$O$48:$O$5000, (--'Bid Information and Summary'!$B$48:$B$5000=$A7)*(--'Bid Information and Summary'!$C$48:$C$5000=$C7)*('Bid Information and Summary'!$D$48:$D$5000=$D7))

The -- ensures that numbers, and not text, are returned, so that you don't get the mismatch.

You need to limit the ranges - whole column references include anything in your header section.

You do not need to enter 365 formulae as array formulae and you should save 365 files as .xlsx.

Hi Ali, thanks so much for looking into this. I can see it worked on your example, I tried to replicate on mine but I'm getting a #value! error. Would you be able to tell me what I'm missing here?

Re: #CALC! Error with Filter Function Pulling from Other Formulas

There's obviously data lower down your sheet that is messing it up and you need to start at row 48, NOT row 47:

=FILTER('Bid Information and Summary'!$O$48:$O$500, (--'Bid Information and Summary'!$B$48:$B$500=$A7)*(--'Bid Information and Summary'!$C$48:$C$500=$C7)*('Bid Information and Summary'!$D$48:$D$500=$D7))

Do NOT enter this with CTRL+ALT+DELETE!!!
