Return value if a number lies between a range of numbers (multiple numbers)

    Hi,

Can someone help me on a formula to return the value in the name column (Column H) to column C:

The condition is: If the value in column B is between or within value in column I.

Example: 1057.046 is between 1044.17 (A) and 1075.74 (B), so the return value is A. Do you guys have any formula to automate for the rest of the numbers?

    Thank you.

I don't understand your criteria. Add a few expected answers to your file.

Re: Return value if a number lies between a range of numbers (multiple numbers)

why just A not B to return?

    Values Return value/name Name Values
    1057.046
    A
    1044.17
    1057.199
    B
    1075.74

    .
Column B is blank except header
    Column I is totally blank

    Try this:

    =INDEX(G:G,MATCH(A2,H:H,1))

    copied down

The expected size of a sample is 10-20 rows. With almost 4000 rows, I did not carry out any checks... other than at the A to B boundary
