why SUM not work according to logic, LOL?
I've always used subtractions in SUM like =sum(c1-c2). It always works, but I tried =sum(c1-c2-c3) results in an error.
Also, i am not very sophisticated in learning Excell but always use just simple formulae. However, I tried also use my logic to create a formula, but it's not working? The formula I tried is:
=sum((c1-c2)-(e1:e10)) e1 to e10 consists of itemized numbers that are added up for the cell c3.

Just use SUM when you have a range or array to SUM.

will not result in an error if the three cells all contain numbers. But instead use

For your last formula you cannot use ranges in arithmetic expressions. Use this:
