Mround and Ceiling are not round correctly as per system

Column D is the pro-rated holiday days produced by our system. I have tried to create the same on excel, but on some occasions, my formula does not agree with the system. I have tried both Ceiling and Mround functions but none of them are sealing the issue i have. In most cases, Ceiling has produced better result than Mround but not all the time.
I am thinking using Max function, but I hope someone could spot my error.

Where are the system-generated results to compare with, please?

    Hi Ali,
The system generated is on column D, my formulas are on: Column G a formula with out rounding. The same formulas on E( With Mround) and F( With Ceiling)

You should probably start by explaining the EXACT rules used for holiday entitlement. Without knowing that, it's going to be guesswork. So, either tell us... or ask HR and then tell us...

Re: Mround and Ceiling are not round correctly as per system

I deleted all the duplicate rows, as they were telling us nothing new. There does appear to be an inconsistency in the way in which HR figures are derived. The EXACT figures (I twiddled your formula a little as a divisor of 260 seemed to be too approximate...

Most times (yellow) they round UP to the nearest 0.5, but not always (blue). If you don't know why, you need to ask HR, for sure. Their values, logically, for the blue rows are incorrect.

    Thanks Glenn,
That is how I also feel. From excel's perspective, the HR has produced inconsistent results.

Not a solution... but at least someone else (me) thinks that their numbers are odd.

Keep the thread open and post any additional information that you get from them.

Might it be that they are excluding public holidays from the NETWORKDAYS calculations?

You can calculate until you weigh an ounce, but you will never get the same results.
Here is an example of the results of HR with the same start date and the same number of vacation days, over a full year, but a different number of vacation days pro rata.

My conclusion is also that the results of HR are inconsistent.
