    Exclamation Help ! Average number that covers the minimum value

    Hello,

    I need the help of someone for a Excel formula

    Sorry in advance if this is basic thing, but i am not so good with IT.

    I have a company where I have 4 sales persons, I would like to allocate the same amount of client to each of them according to the territory the salespersons covers.

    Let me show you:

    North : 38 clients
    South : 23 clients
    Est : 14 clients
    West : 18 clients

    so I want to fairly select for each of them the same amount of clients they will have to cover, they do not need to cover all clients.
    I calculated the average number, which is 23...but it does not make sense for the guys that only have 14 or 18 accounts in their territory.

    Is there a formula, way to calculate the best number of client I should allocate to the salespersons ?

    Welcome to the forum.

    There is no Excel 2015 - which version do you reeally have?

    There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook (yellow banner: HOW TO ATTACH YOUR SAMPLE WORKBOOK). Screenshots are of little practical use as we cannot manipulate them.

    A good sample workbook has just 10-20 rows of representative data that has been desensitised. It also has expected results mocked up, worked examples where required, relevant cells highlighted and a few explanatory notes.

    Currently there are Excel 2019, Excel 2021 and Excel 365 - which do you have?

    OK, so in your file, I was expecting you to have manually mocked up your expected results, as I requested.

    If you don't just want to average it out, explain in DETAIL the rules you wish to apply. Excel can't do anything without your telling it how.
