    Labor Pricing Grid-Help

Hello all. We currently have a labor pricing matrix that was copied out of our old software but it has no formula. I need help to find a formula to calculate grid based on labor time entered in A1. We want to increase this rate in the future and need help.

    Thanks,

    toyota grid (1).xlsx

    Welcome to the Forum Dhawk23!

See tab Solution. The numbers in your sample sheet are all wrong except for 1.0 hours. I have no idea where you could have gotten these numbers.

This way of publishing rates in a table goes back to pre-computer days. Why don't you just have the user enter the number of hours and have a formula to multiply it by the rate? See sheet Even Better.

    Hi there,

The values produced by the following formula doesn't agree 100% with the values in your table, but the layout of the table seems to suggest that the following formula is what you need in Cell B2, copied across and down as appropriate:

After some thought I think you would want to explicitly round the price up to the next highest $0.01. Let me know if your policy is to round down to the next lowest $0.01.

and copy to the rest of the table.

This is a labor time matrix where it also calculates a gradual increase of different percentages when we calculated a few cells it looked closer to 9-15 percent increase. I hope this helps.

I'm sorry to say it makes it more confusing. I don't really understand what that means. Do you mean the more hours you bill, the higher the rate gets?

If it's not straight hours x rate, you need to explain how you want to calculate the price.

    Re: Labor Pricing Grid-Help

Can you make it to where it increases the labor rate by .9 percent every additional hour please? We will try to run with that maybe make a cell where we can change the percentage to also have it recalculate.

    Thanks,

Not sure that I understand, however to include an additional .9% for each hour (row) to Jeff's formula try:

Note that I put the results in columns M:W so they could be compared to the original amounts in columns A:K.

    Re: Labor Pricing Grid-Help

Put this formula in B2 and copy to entire table. It charges the given rate for under 1 hour, then starting at 1.0 hours it increases the rate by 0.9% for each full hour.
