Display Icon if date entered and a different icon if no date

    Hello,

I would like to have cell A2 display an icon based on whether or not a completion date has been entered into cell I2.

I have typed =IF(ISBLANK(I2),"0","3") into cell A2 and then set Conditional Formatting for Cell A2 to display a check mark if cell value is >= 3 and an x if < 3 and = 0

The formula works to change the value of A2 based on a date entered into I2. The Continental Formatting works if I put a number in A2, but the two don't work together.

A2 is formatted to display a number.

Typing =J2 into A2 also works, unless J2 gets it's value from the IF formula above. I don't know what I am doing wrong.

I think I understood your post.

    1. Add =IF(ISBLANK(I2), 0, IF(ISNUMBER(I2), 3, "0")) to A2
    2. Edit cond formatting
