Vlookup and indirect and match formula

On the attached sample excel, there is a 2023 summary page. For each animal listed in row 5 across there is a corresponding tab. I want it to fill in or the year 12/31/2023 which is also located on row 3 of each of the animal worksheets. I tried a vlookup and it comes up blank. across row 6 on 2023 i set it up so 1,2,3,4,5,and 6 should come up. Those should be in the 2023 column if i did that right.
    =IFERROR(VLOOKUP($A7,INDIRECT("'"&C$5&"'!A:C"),MATCH("12/31/2023",INDIRECT("'"&A$2&"'!3:3"),0),FALSE),"")
