Do I use a LOOKUP, INDEX, or MATCH?

I am trying to figure out how to search other sheets for values and total them up on to the first sheet.

I have a table on the left in C28, C31, C34 and would like to search the "Data" Tab for the total of Nets (AI), Bags of Zips (AJ), and Table Covers (AK). Seems simple enough but I just can't see to crack it.

Here is the file --NEW-- Crop Logs - Template.xlsx

    Thank you!

Why not just this for Table Covers:

I don't understand why a) you are using a VLOOKUP, and b) why you are searching for what looks like a random date.

Looking at this again, it's not quite right actually.

Your formula totals everything in that row. I need it to:

    1) Recognize what Cultivar is picked in H2 on the first page.
    2) Then look at the table on the 2nd paged labeled "Data" and find the same Cultivar in the first row.
    3) Then search to the right for the appropriate numbers of nets for that cultivar.
    4) Finally multiple that number from the table on the "Data" sheet.

    EXAMPLE

    1) "Apple" is chosen in H2 on the "Crop Logs" tab.
    2) It then searches column A on the "Data" sheet for "Apple".
    3) It scans to the right finding the "# of Nets" column and finds the appropriate amount.
    4) It then multiples that number by the number of tables found in P1 on the Crop Logs tab and displays the data in C28.

    Thanks!

Re: Do I use a LOOKUP, INDEX, or MATCH?

Thank you, it works well. I added a step so it multiplies by the number of tables. But thank you works amazingly.

If I wanted to do the same thing for table covers and bag of zips, would I just replace "Nets" with "Table Covers" and "Bags of"?

Re: Do I use a LOOKUP, INDEX, or MATCH?

The only problem is you have split your headings across two rows. You might need to change the text and look at row 2 rather than row 1. Or, I would recommend, just have one cell/row for your headings and use Word Wrap to give a similar effect.
