    How do I create a report to monitor monthly utilities

    I want to create a document to monitor and manage all utilities for building
    and parks (like gas, electric, sewer, water usage. I also want to prepare a
    monthly usage report for these utilities and locations.

    The first thing to do is to get a pencil and paper and make several lists. Until you can see the big picture, jumping straight in to using an excel spreadsheet(s) with thoughts and ideas half formed will cause more problems than it would solve.

    Sheet 1 could be "Buildings", and cover a calendar month:
    Use the top 3 rows as column headers for listing the utilities used in the buildings.
    Dates put in column A. The figures put in the rows under their respective column headings.

    Totals can be put at the end of the rows, and at the foot of the columns, one or two cells past the last cell containing data.

    Sheet 2 could be for "Parks" and follow the same basic plan as sheet 1.

    Leave room for adding late items just remembered.
    Create a monthly report on sheet 3 by linking the total cells from sheets 1 and 2.
    If sheet 3 is kept small, it will stay within the Print Area, and the monthly report will be easier to print - a 1 page report being better than a report stretching over several pages.
    Also remember to keep a back-up in a safe place - just in case!
    It is difficult to be more precise without being able to see the big picture myself!

    Instead of a question, this sounds more like a project which is what many of
    us do for a living. You might try the MS templates to get you started.
