    Ranking based on certain criteria?

    I'm having problem in doing ranking. What I want to do is do a ranking based on value from 3 column. let's say the first column is pass/fail, second column is GPA(grade point average) and the third column is average marks. I would like to rank it based on pass, then gpa and then average.

    Can you proivde a small sample of your data, about 5 rows, in plain text, along with expected results?

    First column to check between pass or fail(pass better ranking), 2nd column (lower point better ranking) and 3rd (higher point better ranking)

    Sample data;

    In rows,

    Fail,2.60,66.0
    Pass, 1.64,61.5
    Fail,1.55,59.5
    Fail,1.64,61.2
    Fail,1.64,59.5

    Result ranking in column 5,1,2,3,4

    It's easy to do sort to get the required result, but I need to get the result automatically. And I think that ranking is the way to do it, but I'm don't know how.

    Can anybody please help me out.

    Thanks,

    Adha
