Display Weekday Only

What formula will allow me to display the day of the week only?

For example, I have the date in one column and I would like only the day of the week in another column.

Try this formula:

=TEXT(A1,"dddd")

or use "ddd" in place of the four d's to use the truncated version of a day (eg Wed).
