commision amount forIF previous cell value is < 0,(neg)then add it to this cell value

In Excel, as total sales are entered each month, my formula calculates a
commision amount for each month. If the previous commision amount is < 0 (a
negative number), then I need to "add" it to the next months commision, which
    would actually be subtracting it.

If it is a negative number, adding it will work fine

    =A1+A2

works for say 10 an -4

    =(-4)+(+10)
    =6
