    Not filtering entire Database

I have Windows and Office XP and am having problems using my filter function
in excel. The entire database will be highlighted yet once the filter
function is on everything is not showing up in the drop down menu. I am
dealing with large databases 10k-30k lines with data but I would only assume
there isn't a maximum filteration number. All updates are up to date and I
    even reloaded Office. Thank you!!
