Advanced Lookup problem

Ok this is the basic idea (its a register) - on one sheet I type someone's name into a cell then hit a button to run a macro that will add 1 to the "Times Attended" column on another sheet, the problem that I am facing is that the "Times Attended" column is on the left hand side of the names and cannot be moved due to the fact I need it to be in that position for other macros to work. What function do I need and how would i go about doing it, I know how to record and assign macros to buttons its just the other bit I am stuck with
