Finding/removing duplicate names in a worksheet

How do I find and remove duplicate names (or addresses, etc.) from an Excel
    2000 worksheet?

There are several ways to do this with funtions, but you will still need to
    delete the duplicates

I always use advanced filter (Data>Filter>Advanced Filter...)

To do this copy the header from the colun that has the duplicates over a few
cells to the right. (This will make the criteria). Highlight a cell in the
data column and navigate to the advanced filter menu options as above.

In the top refedit box for the 'list to filter', ensure it has the range you
need. In the criteria range select the header you copied and the empty cell
below. Check copy to new location radio button and select a cell just to
the right of the criteria cell (Leave one cell gap between), now check the
unique records checkbox and then OK. You will now have a list of unique
    entries
