sizing the Excel spreadsheet correctly on the screen

Please help: in ignorance I tried to adjust the spreadsheet to get a larger
picture on the screen, unfortunately that didn't work well. I am unable to
correctly resize on the screen. The right side of the command line is
obliterated; I am unable to get to the minimise, resize or shutdown box
usually found in the top right corner. Also, the screen is too low and I can
not see the clock in the bottom right corner. What commands are required to
reset the screen to the normal size? All help is greatly appreciated. Thank
    you.

Click the Windows Start button, then select Control Panel | Appearance
& Themes | Display then the Settings tab - here you can adjust screen
    resolution.

In Excel you can use Window | Arrange to fit the window within the
    screen.

    Hope this helps.
