is there a formula that remove duplicate values from a range

Given a set of rows each cell containing a value is there a way to return a
new range based on those values without duplicates?

Not a single formula, but there are other ways that can do it:

You can use an Advanced Filter. Data\Filter\Advanced Filter, Extract uniquie records to a new location.
