Question Automatically updating cells in a different tab? Possible?

In one tab I have an active total being created throughout cells, ie: d3 = 1 so b3 = .5 (=countif/2). But I need a year to date on a seperate tab or workbook that is counting down, ie: 12-.5. Is there anyway to create a link so that when one cell in one tab goes up it subtracts from a different cell in a different tab or workbook?

    Thanks,
    DarklyCute1
