time:how to work out how to calculate my finish time

can someone please download my work sheet and tell me how to work out how to calculate my

finish time in "e5" with the date i "b5"

to the start time in "d5" with the date in "b6"

for example i finish work at 23:00 on the 01/01/07 and start work at 07:00 on the 02/01/07 the would tell me that i had an 8 hour break

i would like the result to show in "n5" please

i dont mind having the date and time in the same cell, how ever i would rather it did not.

id still like to solve my original problem

this is the last thing that i have to do on the sheet and its then complete.

also i noticed from the following formula that if i finished at 12 midday and started the following day at 12 midday the formula would show a result of 00:00:00 when it should be 12hrs

    =24*(IF(E5>D6,D6+1-E5,D6-E5))

this is where it gets a little confusing.......

the formula for monday to sunday excluding friday needs to be the same, but, fridays and the following monday needs to be calculated which for instance would be 36hrs but needs to subtract saturdays and sundays rest time if i work on those day.

perhaps the 'Dates' explanations at http://www.cpearson.com/excel/topic.htm might help you.
