    Compacting images

This is a weird one (for me).

I have an Excel file with a whole series of images in it. They are all screen captures that have been cropped down to show some smaller detail. I would like to be able to permanently crop off the stuff that's not being shown in order to reduce the file size. However, when I try to "compact images" it only resizes it back to the full original size. If I copy and paste the image into Word, the same thing happens there. Anyone else ever experienced this?

    I am using Excel 2003 with Windows 2000 SP4.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I usually crop my screen captures in Paint (Attributes) and the filesize and image are both reduced.

What did you use to 'crop' the image?
