Unhappy Random pick (multi column) info for audit

Help please - is this possible.

SECTION Publication No. AL STATUS DATE
    FRT1 1 2 3/4/05
    FRT1 2 3 4/5/05
    FRT1 3 4 5/6/06
    FRT2 4 5 6/7/06
    FRT2 5 6 6/7/02
    FRT3 6 7 7/8/03
    FRT3 7 8 8/9/01
    OPS 8 9 10/11/07
    OPS 9 10 14/12/05

Want to... take random choice of 'Publication No. for FRT1 and place it with all associated data in row ( AL Status, date ) to new area/sheet. Possibly do this a number of times. Lets say once for each SECTION for example.
Then do the same for FRT2 and whatever Sections I want to.
This is for a random audit on books.
Publication number will not be consecutive.

    Any help advice much appreciated.

    One suggestion is as follows.....

Add a column to the end of your data, called say Random Selection. Set up each cell in this column with the formula =RAND()

Goto Tools...Options and the Calculation tab and set calculation to Manual.

Then press the [F9] key a few times to generate different random numbers against the data.

Then, select the SECTION heading and use the Data...Filter...AutoFilter menus to set-up the filter arrows on your data.

Select FR1 as the first filter, then select Top 10 for the Random Selection column and reduce Top 10 to Top 1 (assuming you only want to select one random item).

You can then copy and paste the randomly selected row to a new sheet.

Repeat the filtereing for FR2 etc.

You can press [F9] at any time to re-randomize the data if you want.

Don't forget to switch calculation back to automatic when you come out of the Workbook.
