Month Function Not Displaying Correct Output?

    Hello Again...

It is strange, in cell A1 I have the date: 5/3/1995
    In cell a2 I have =Month(A1)

    The output I get is: 1/5/1900 ???

Why is this? I have checked formats, the data itself, I even tried retyping the date! I don't know what's going on...

The MONTH() function returs the number of the month. E,g, for May it will return 5.
You need to change the format of cell A2 to 'Standard'.

Here's a link (if you need it) that explains how Excel store dates
