How do i count duplicates and produce a sumary?

Hye, i am a newbie to excel so if possible pl help me.

I have a spreadsheet showing customer name against item ordered. The spreadsheet identifies individual order so there will be duplicets if someone orders same item within some period of time. e.g.

Customer Name Item code

a 115
b 251
c 25
a 115
a 25

I would like to obtain a summary like as follows:

Customer Name Item Code No of orders
a 115 2
a 25 1
b 251 1
c 25 1

Can someone please guide me on this?

assuming a, b, c .. are cust names and 115,...the prod nr, a Pivot table will solve your problem in a second.
I added a small sample.
