    Show Selective Data

I created a drop down list in Excel. I want to know if there is a way to sort the data such that only select data will show. I.E. Lets say there are 10 entrys, 5 equal the value 1 and 5 equal the value 2. Lets say I want to see only the values that are 2 and hide all other values. I would also like to be able to choose the value 1 and have all other values be hidden, and then go back to having no values hidden. Is there a way to do that. Sorry for the long post. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I believe Excel's AutoFilter feature will help you.

    See instructions a this website:

    Does that help?

    Auto Filter

How do you autofilter more than one column. The only way i can get the auto filter to work properly is if i highlight the column i wanted filtered and then click on auto filter. If I click on the whole row it does not do it properly. And once i have highlighted the column no other columns can be auto filtered. Here is an example file. I want to auto filter column D and E; but i can only filter column D.

Quoting from the website I referred you to:
    1. Set up the database
    a) The first row ... has headings.
    b) Subsequent rows contain data.
    c) There are no blank rows within the database.
    d) There is a blank row at the end of the database, and a blank column at the right
Your data list is NOT set up that way. Data Filters work automatically on ranges that are set up like a database table.....Column headings, no blank rows. Imagine trying to use AutoSum to total a range containing various blank cells. Excel would take the grouping below the last blank cell and only add those values.

In your circumstance, to compensate for all those spaces, you would need to select from the column titles all the way down through the last row containing actual data (B1:F34).....
    THEN <data><filter><autofilter>

    Does that help?
