Question I want a formula to ignore text

I have a simple formula to add cells but sometimes I have text in them and I need excel to ignore the text and not give me the "#VALUE" error.

My sheet adds up daily productions for the amount of dirt moved on a project. If it is a rain day I simply type "rain" in the cell to track the weather days.

I had this sheet in Lotus and when I converted it to excel now I get the error due to the text.

    Hi

What is your "simple" formula? Can it be converted to use the SUM function?

    I found it.

    was: =(C18*40)

    Now: =N(C18)*N(40)

Now it ignores the text and returns "0" like it should.

    Thanks for replying.
