    Unhappy SUMIF With Multiple Conditions

This is my first time to your forum. I have a question regarding the SUMIF formula.

My spreadsheet has three main columns that I'm interested in:
Amount (Column C), Loan Type (Column D) & Month (Column J).

In a separate cell, I would like to summarise my spread sheet by creating a formula that reads something like this:

If column D says "Housing" and column J says "Sept", then sum the amounts in column A.

I cannot get a SUMIF formula to work for me. Is anyone able to give me a suggestion?

    Thanks so much,
    Gemma

Search for postings that use or explain SUMPRODUCT. That function can combine multiple conditions that select items for a sum.
