Keep monthly running tally from a daily sheet

Here is what I have to do.

I have a sheet that gets filled out daily, printed and sent in with paperwork. I have another sheet that gets turned in monthly that has daily totals.

What I would like to do is this.

When I change the date of the daily form and input my totals, those totals will copy over to the monthly form and stay put when the date gets changed to something else.

I tried using an IF formula that checked if the date on the monthly form matched the date on the daily form. If so, it copied the correct info over. Problem is, when the date changes, the IF statement no longer holds true and wipes field.

Just FYI, I'm kind of new to Excel, but have a good understanding of logic flow. I just can't seem to figure this one out.
