Calculating percentages based on multiple criteria

I have a sheet (enclosed), in which I have a row called Percentages, which works fine, it is the number bringing an item divided by the total possible.

Now, I want to break that down by department, as in the percentages of IT bringing meat, drinks, etc. Same for each dept.

change your "x" to a 1 or a 0, you are then about to use sumif instead of countif. Then you are able to easily calculate totals for departments.
