insert alternating columns and rows

I have a sheet that is 300 columns x 500 rows. I would like to insert a column between every existing column and insert a row between every existing row. Im hoping someone knows how to do that faster than 1 at a time.

That works great. A macro is fine with me, and its fun to watch since my sheet is actually a map made with cell borders. I just wanted to increase the scale, and when the macro runs, it looks like its jumping to warp speed star trek style or something.
