    excel drop down boxes

    Hello,

I have a spreadsheet and would like to be able to make a drop down option. I want the list of options to be in another sheet, and (the tricky bit) the list of options are 2 columns. I want to be able to see the 2 columns when using the drop down box, but for only one of the options to come up.

    e.g.

    Column 1 Column 2
    1 a
    2 b
    3 c
    4 d

In the drop down list i would like it to show both columns, but then only column 1 to be in the excel sheet.

Hopefully somebody can help, i hope this makes sence.
