    Stopping VLOOKUP's

Im not sure if this would require a macro or not, but is there any way to make it so that a VLOOKUP, only performs its function once then stops (i.e doesn't update the child cell when the master is changed).

    For example, if i have

    Sheet1!A1 - contains data

Sheet2!C3 - contains VLOOKUP (copied down to C10)

And want to record each instance when A1 is changed, rather than C3 updating it's self.

Sorry if that makes no sense, any help would really be appreciated.

Try setting your spread sheet to manual update.

Click on TOOLS -->OPtions --> Calculation -->Caluculation Select Manual

    Hope that works.

Thanks for the reply, this just seems to delay the formula from updating, but as soon as i hit f9 to update it, all of them update. Am I missing something?

    Thanks again
