fixed column, row number from another cell

Hi all,
I need to call for example the Column A and the row of for example (n-1) where n is a real number in another cell, like B1 in the other words how to reference to a cell where the column is known but the row is a function of the content of another cell.

Do u have any idea how to do it?

Most posts in this forum are about Excel Functions. A more descriptive title would get more responces.

Have you looked at the INDEX or INDIRECT functions?

Attached file has TXT extension. Rename the file and make the extension .xls as this is an Excel sheet with what you might be looking for.
