    Format not copying

    =CONCATENATE("$",INDEX('Tenant Detail'!$A$4:$S$56,$B$1,7))

This formula is copying a sum amount from a different worksheet. The amount copies over without commas/accounting formatting.

I've tried to format the cell, but that doesn't make a difference.

    What can I do?

To be strictly correct the formula is not copying, it's reading the data. That might seem to be splitting hairs, but if a function could copy, (and it can't), it would presumably also copy formats, just as copy and paste does.

What you're doing is combining a string, (the dollar sign), and a number. This of course means that the whole cell is text, and you can't format text as if it were a number, with commas etc.

Why don't you just format the cell referred to on the TenantDetail! sheet as currency etc, and apply the same format to the dependent cell?
